Join us as Pam Dunbar expands the topic of

her August orientation presentation – “Preparing Children for Success in the 21st Century Workplace.” At the Montessori Academy of Chicago we say that Montessori education prepares children for “life,” which is a wonderful marketing message, but what exactly does that mean? Some of the most distinctive characteristics of Montessori graduates are difficult to measure and, thus, can go unseen by families. During this presentation, Pam will explore the “Portrait of a Montessori Graduate,” highlighting the positive outcomes of a Montessori education, including the attributes of independence and interdependence developed in our environments. She will also highlight strategies for parents to reinforce the development of these attributes at home. Parents will leave this presentation with key parenting principles and concrete things they can do, thus reinforcing the value of a long-term partnership between parents and school.
