Montessori School of Long Grove Seeks Primary Teacher for 2017-2018

The Montessori School of Long Grove is seeking a certified, experienced Primary (3-6) teacher for the 2017-2018 school year. The successful applicant will possess initiative, leadership, management and organizational skills. In addition, the ability to plan creatively, adapt to student needs, problem solve, and communicate effectively with parents, staff, and students is essential. Applicants who are passionate and dedicated to the Montessori philosophy are encouraged to apply. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Bachelor's Degree and Montessori Certification required.


Founded in 1975, the Montessori school of Long Grove is located on 2.5 acres in the northwest suburbs of Chicago. The city and surrounding areas provide a myriad of opportunities to take advantage of all the culture, history, nature and entertainment the area has to offer. Outdoor space provides a rich environment for scientific exploration with animals and a vegetable garden. Classrooms are beautiful with natural light and a complete set of materials. Position                :               Lead Montessori Directress

Job Description & responsibilities

The directress leads the children’s activities academically, spiritually, as it relates to the child’s inner self, emotionally, and physically in a prepared Montessori environment. The directress challenges each child to meet his/her full potential in these developmental areas, in accordance with Montessori philosophy, principles and procedures. Applies professional knowledge of child development principles to interpret the Montessori philosophy in a manner that assures developmental growth. Develop and implementing curriculum plans and activities that are supportive of the age of the children including the academic year and the summer program. Maintains and aesthetically pleasing, well equipped and well organized prepared environment according to the Montessori principles.  ​Able to work in a team with assistant teachers and able to guide them.

Perform duties that are instructional in nature or deliver direct services to students or parents. Serve in a position for which a teacher or another professional has supporting responsibility for the design and implementation of educational programs and services. Able to follow instructions by lead teacher and work as a team.

Job Description & responsibilities

Teacher who is flexible and available on short notice of 24 hours or less. The candidates should show past experience of working with children and are comfortable with them. The teacher should be able to plan fun activities for students in discussion with administrator. Teaching a reading/writing/mathematics program, music or art  will be an added advantage. Teacher will need to ensure that classroom environment is safe for all students and maintain it. Teacher should have good communication and interpersonal skills so as to communicate with school personnel and parents. Based on performance, the position can be made permanent or can be given consistent hours.



Full-time Elementary Teacher: Brickton Montessori School

Brickton Montessori School, an accredited, private, non-profit school on the northwest side of Chicago, is currently interviewing for a full-time elementary Montessori teacher for the 2017-2018 school year.  We are looking for an energetic, organized person who has a passion and understanding for this developmental level, confidence with the Montessori elementary curriculum, and a desire to collaborate with another experienced teacher. Candidate will share responsibility for lesson planning, classroom management, and conferencing with families.  He/she should have
AMI or AMS training for Lower and Upper Elementary and a bachelor's degree.

After School Coordinator: Brickton Montessori School
