Aurora Montessori School is seeking a Primary Montessori Directress! 

Aurora Montessori School has been proudly serving the Aurora and Naperville communities since 1999. With trained, dedicated educators (some with decades of experience), we provide an authentic Montessori experience in an early education setting. With mixed-age classrooms and carefully curated Montessori materials, we embrace the authentic Montessori Method, as we guide young learners toward the future, so they become innovative thinkers, good citizens, and able leaders.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for the delivery of an authentic Montessori program.

  • Supervise the classroom, helping the children to think creatively, to solve problems independently and respect themselves and others. 

  • Spark imagination, build self-esteem and help children discover new things each day.

  • Guide children in self-motivated learning, helping stimulate their natural desire to learn.

  • Responsible for reporting challenges, successes and competencies of each student to the Head of School and to parents on a regular basis utilizing our online record keeping program, Montessori Compass.

  • Ensure the daily care of every child by following all licensing guidelines and implementing all company standards.

  • Communicate directly with parents and prospective parents to achieve success for the child.

  • Have countless advancement opportunities through our on-going training and expansive network of centers and brands.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Montessori Certification

  • Experience working in a licensed childcare facility, preferably a Montessori school

  • AMS/AMI or a MACTE accredited training certificate

  • The ability to meet state and/or accreditation requirements for education and experience

  • Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work

  • Must meet state requirements for education and additional center/school requirements may apply

Ideally, we are seeking a full-time candidate for this position; however, a half day schedule (8 am – 12:30 pm) may be considered for the remainder of this school year – through May 2023 with the intent to transfer to a full-time position for the Fall of 2023.
