Job Description

The role of the Math Specialist is to provide individual or small group instruction to students who are in need of more attention in math. Strong candidates enjoy differentiating instruction in order to target specific learning goals, developing strong connections with students and teachers through consistent and positive communication, and working closely and actively as a member of a team. The individual works with the Elementary and Middle School Director to ensure lessons support the Montessori curriculum. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

● Uses school assessment data as a guide to provide targeted instruction

● Aligns instruction with standards, and student data

● Communicates regularly with the teacher regarding student progress

● Continuously monitors progress of students and adjusts instruction, groupings, etc. accordingly

● Provides support for all levels of Elementary Mathematics 

● Other duties as required 

Preferred Certification and Experience: 

● Experience as a Elementary and/or Middle School math teacher (grades 4-9) 

● Proven track record of successfully supporting students in math 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree required

• At least 1 year of teaching experience required

• Professional Educator License (Illinois Teaching License) 

• Montessori Trained preferred 

• Authorized to work in the US

Schedule: Full-time, 10-month contract (September to June)

Salary: Based on education and experience
