Assistant Toddler Teaching Position
Rose Hall Montessori School is looking for an Assistant Teacher to join its Toddler (2-year-olds)
teaching team. Rose Hall is a small, nurturing, community school with great families,
collaborative teachers, and a supportive Administration. Rose Hall is a member of the American
Montessori Society and has been serving children and families on the North Shore for over 40
years.
The Position:
The Assistant’s role is to support the Lead Teacher as they prepare the classroom each day, work as part of a team to support the children in the classroom and collaborate on curriculum changes. It is crucial that the individual has strong communication skills, be organized, creative, responsible, and collegial. The ideal candidate would have prior Montessori experience, or experience in an educational setting, a commitment to the Montessori philosophy, and 6 credentialed hours of early childhood education.
Working with young children can be very physically demanding, as well as requiring flexible thinking, a willingness to learn, and a strong team attitude. This age group requires staff to assist with the bathroom and diaper changes, as well as set up snack, and other similar tasks.
The position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 11:00 am (part-time), beginning June 2024 for Summer Camp and restarting in late August 2024 for the school year, with one week of classroom set-up and orientation all day during mid to late August.

Experience and Credentials:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 6+ credit hours of early childhood education
- Experience working with children
- Ability to lift 15 lbs. occasionally and 40-50 lbs. in the case of lifting and carrying a child in an emergency
- Capable of frequent sitting, standing, stooping, bending, carrying, and moving
- Ability to ascend and descend stairs frequently
