Position

Full-Time Lead Montessori Teacher – Primary Classroom (3–6)
Start Date: Summer/Fall 2026

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday

  • 8-hour shift

  • Academic school calendar with six weeks of summer camp

Role Overview

The Lead Montessori Teacher guides the development of children in a thoughtfully prepared environment that supports independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning. This role requires a warm, nurturing educator who brings professionalism, organization, and leadership to the classroom while fostering strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and thoughtfully adapt the Montessori environment to meet the developmental needs of each child

  • Maintain an orderly, clean, and aesthetically engaging classroom

  • Observe, assess, and document student progress

  • Communicate openly and positively with parents regarding development, learning, and behavior through conferences and ongoing communication

  • Provide leadership within the classroom and collaborate closely with colleagues

  • Participate in monthly staff meetings and occasional school events outside regular hours

Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • AMS certification (required)

  • A warm, nurturing approach to guiding young children

  • Strong organizational and classroom management skills

  • Collaborative spirit and the ability to contribute positively to a team environment

  • Team leadership and motivational abilities that support both children and colleagues

  • Professionalism, flexibility, and adaptability in a dynamic school setting

  • Prior experience in Montessori primary classrooms
