Beverly Montessori School is seeking a full-time Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood team. Our fully accredited Montessori school serves children ages 3–6. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with young children, and is eager to contribute to a respectful and joyful learning community. The candidate will be responsible for supporting the lead teacher, assisting children with classroom routines, preparing and maintaining a Montessori environment. A qualified applicant should have strong communication and teamwork skills, and a genuine love of working with children. Experience working with children is preferred. We offer opportunities for professional development and continuing education. 

About Beverly Montessori School 

Founded in 1967, Beverly Montessori School is one of only a few Montessori schools in the Chicago area to be fully accredited by the American Montessori Society (AMS). Our experienced faculty is committed to providing an authentic Montessori education in a nurturing environment where every child is known, respected, and encouraged to reach their full potential. 

Responsibilities 

  • Support the lead teacher in maintaining a Montessori classroom. 
  • Assist children with classroom routines while encouraging independence.
  • Prepare and maintain the classroom environment and Montessori materials.
  • Observe children and communicate effectively with the teaching team.
  • Supervise children indoors and outdoors to ensure a safe and caring environment.
  • Assist with classroom cleaning, organization, and daily preparation. 
  • Collaborate with faculty and administration to support the school's mission and philosophy. 

Qualifications 

  • Experience working with children ages 3–6 preferred. 
  • Montessori experience is welcomed but not required. 
  • High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred. 
  • A genuine love of working with young children. 
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills. 
  • Must successfully complete all required background checks and meet Illinois employment requirements. 

This is a full-time, school-year position with opportunities to work during summer camp.
